Hi.
We have the laptop, Toshiba Satellite P50-B-10Z. We had Ubuntu installed for several years. Because we wanted to move to complete freeware we decided to set up the computer with Debian. So we freshly installed Debian on that machine. Since then however there have been several changes in the behaviour compared to Ubuntu.
1. When we open apps like Brave, TOR, Telegram etc. the Fan turns on to high rotation. After that it cools down and then off. When a task is performed inside the app e.g. playing a video in Brave or Telegram the fan turns on again. In Ubuntu this didn't happen. The fan was usually off or quiet. With Debian is it notably on more often with the same tasks performed. What could be the problem?
2. The file manager is very slow when searching for a file. Sometimes it takes minutes until something is found. When it is searching it sometimes also freezes other apps. What could be the problem?
Any ideas are welcome.
Thanks
