Planning new build, AM5 MOBO wifi question

It this is a common question forgive, as the search bar is not working and I interrogated Google a good deal before I posted.

I am planning a new PC build for my teenage son who is looking at maybe engineering or the like, and soon to attend college. He needs a new PC as his rendering programs and etc are slow on the older computer we made, so we're looking at a new AMD based system with more RAM than the 8 GB he has now. Also, we both enjoy gaming, and I do not use Microsoft any more, finding that Steam and other gaming options for Linux work great for me, but regardless we'll need some graphics card support and a gaming capable CPU, entirely on Linux. That will likely be an AMD Ryzen 7 of sorts. That will mean an AM5 socket motherboard. I am going to let him pick the distro but likely will be Debian.

Now here is my question: does Debian play nice with the wifi on any of the AM5 motherboards, is there direct experience anyone has with onboard Wifi ? Should I plan on getting a USB dongle, in spite of WiFi being onboard?

The chipset for the the MOBO I am leaning toward (Gigagbyte X670 Aorus Elite AX) wifi is
MediaTek MT7922A22M which has mixed reports on linuxhardware.org for linux kernal 5.17 or newer. If someone has direct experience with this working let me know

Thanks for reading
