I have been requested to try running latest Firefox ESR on same Debian 11 (oldstable) computer, where I am running stable Firefox ESR from a official Debian repository (firefox-esr/oldstable-security,now 115.13.0esr-1~deb11u1 amd64 [installed, automatic]).
https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/in ... efox-linux (Flatpak among other)
https://github.com/srevinsaju/Firefox-Appimage (un-official AppImage)
Every time I am asked to do such thing, it is unpleasant, because i do not know any easy way to do this without spending (wasting) like one hour re-discovering ways to safely install this in parallel while preserving data of the stable application.
QUESTIONS:
So do you have any script which can help installing this safely in parallel?
How the AppImage or Flatpak (which seems easiest for me to install) application settings differ from a Debian package application settings? Is it using same path so a different app versions can modify the settings and render it unusable by the different app version?
