python '_distutils_hack' directory in bullseye

I need to upgrade setuptools (for python) as the version (58.1.0) comes with bullseye is reported as security vulnerability.
Deleting this directory allowed me to use latest version of setuptools and I'm wondering if this is ok.
Is there a better approach to this matter?
