Hey guys, I have a clean install of Debian 12.6 (64bit) running in VirtualBox.
I have installed build-essential. However, I am unfamiliar with the installation procedures for Debian as I am transferring from Ubuntu. I was trying to generate coredumps in Ubuntu whilst using AddressSanitizer, but tried everything I could think of using Google and other support forums and have not gotten an answer yet.
SO! Since all I am trying to do is create my first coredump, I thought I would switch to Debian for a quick minute just to see if I could generate some progress.
And the first thing I am trying to do is install AddressSanitizer. So, what is the simplest way to go about doing this?
Thanks!
(Also, if you have any advice on generating coredumps, where they are stored, etc, that would be great. Otherwise, I'll probably just create another thread if I have any issues regarding coredumps.)
EDIT: I have tried install the libasan6 package, but it is not compatible with GCC 12. What's the easiest way around this?
