I had a power surge today and it blew my Acces Point. Now I can't boot my system. For some stupid reason the machine is stuck in a loop during the boot sequence waiting for a live internet connection. I can't boot into recovery mode because the root account is disabled.
Why would system boot be dependent on an active internet connection, and how do I remove this dependency. I know I can mask NetworkManager-wait-online.service, but I would like to know what caused this behavior and how to remove/correct/prevent it instead of just putting a bandaid on it.
