I have a fairly fresh install of Debian 12 x64. I looked up what the default firewall tool was for Debian and found it is nftables. which nft returned nothing. I tried nft -v and bash returned nft: command not found. I thought it was strange that the default firewall tool was not found. I tried installing it only for apt tell me that nftables is already the newest version. I tried sudo which nft which told me it was located in /usr/sbin/nft. I then ran echo $PATH which returned /usr/local/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/local/games:/usr/games. Lo and behold, /usr/sbin is not in my users path. Is that the intended default path for users? If so, what's the rational for not including /usr/sbin?
