Using a low profile card to avoid Eye Strain

I am still struggling with eye strain, After many configuration attempts and test, it seems to be an hardware problem, since I replaced a old computer with a new one and it immediately created eye strain. I have tried to change kernel options, but this options makes the computer freeze "amdgpu.dc=0" using both kernel 6.1 and 6.11

As a work around, I though that I could maybe buy a low profile graphic card using a different chipset than AMD. I asked chat GPT about it and he thinks that it will probably help. But before spending 110$, I thought I could ask some humans first. I also decided to post in case it could help other people with eye strain issues.

The card I had in mind is this one:

GIGABYTE GeForce GT 1030 Low Profile D4 2G | 1417 MHz Boost, 2100 MHz Memory | DDR4 1x DVI-D, 1x HDMI (GV-N1030D4-2GL)

Apparently, with this card, I could still play 2D games or old 3D games without problems. So I am not entirely losing my playing video games capabilities.

Is using a low profile card a good solution to avoid Eye strain?

Here is a portion of the chatGPT transcript recommending this:
1. Why a Low-Profile GPU Might Help
* Avoid AMD Display Core (DC): Older or simpler GPUs (especially NVIDIA) may not use the amdgpu.dc system, reducing potential flickering/dithering issues.
* Better Compatibility: Some older cards support dithering off settings more reliably.
* More Stable Display Output: A dedicated GPU might avoid whatever visual discomfort the integrated AMD GPU is causing.
* No Need for High Power: Low-profile cards are usually passive (fanless) or use very little power, which is ideal for a quiet and efficient system.

...

3. Things to Watch Out For
* NVIDIA Proprietary vs Open-Source Drivers
Proprietary drivers (nvidia-driver) allow disabling dithering via nvidia-settings.
Open-source nouveau drivers may not let you disable dithering.
To disable dithering in NVIDIA:

Code:

    nvidia-settings --assign CurrentDithering=0
* Ports & Adapters
If your monitor is HDMI and the card only has VGA/DVI, you may need an active HDMI adapter.

* Power & PCIe Compatibility
Ensure your PSU supports a PCIe card (most low-profile GPUs need only 25-30W and no external power).
